Hey! A lot of new and exciting things have been going down in the
Groove Killers camp. While
you may have seen this band in the past featuring a plethora of horns,
keyboards, guitars, and any other instruments they could possibly
conjure up, they have now taken a step in another new direction.
The GK’s are proud to welcome Gwennie Collins, lead vocals, Joe Comer, lead vocals/guitar/trombone and Larry Byrne, keyboards/guitar
to the project.
Gwennie, Joe, Larry and the
GK’s have converged together forming a groovin’ foundation that
specializes in Blues, Funk, Classic R&B, Soul, and Rock, all
smoothly woven together with a fresh jazzy flavor.
In other news, the Groove Killers would like to
thank Mr. Brett Mc’Farland for all of his hard work and dedication
to the band over the course of the last 5 years.
He has been a team player throughout the Groove Killers
movement and his creative approach to playing music has been greatly
appreciated. Brett is
retiring his GK jersey, as he will be moving down south this summer.
Filling the guitar chair is Brett Wilmer and the GK’s are
happy to welcome him aboard. Brett’s
style is deeply rooted in the blues and his tasteful playing fits
right in with the soulful sound the GK’s bring to the table.
The band has been working hard and has been
hittin together quite frequently.
Check out the shows page to stay tuned with them.
You can catch them two Saturday’s a month in Eastport
Annapolis at the Rockfish (formerly the Clipper.)
A full length album of original material has been
recorded, and it is currently in the final stages of post production
(we hope.) Be on the look
out for the new record hittin’ the streets within the next couple of
months!
